Because the word IDEAL exists. if you want you can blame it on the ancient roman philosophers. They believed and taught that ideals were what man should strive for. as time marched forward ideas about perfection became indeed into our cultural awareness. Perfect is like beauty: in the eye of the beholder. Very subjective.
