FAS is real, usually though it is only in cases where the mother repeatedly get's drunk and often has high levels of alcohol consistently in her blood. Try to wait till you get your results and not to worry until then, chances are if you are pregnant you probably are ok anyway because once the egg and sperm meet it isn't instantly a fetus, it starts as cells and moves around and nests into the uterus and cells start splitting, etc so the whole process takes around 10-14 days so even if you are hopefully it won't be a major problem. Most girls that i know were ok though, but i wouldn't go on anymore binges.

Just dont do it again until you know wether or not your pregnant. In order to give your child Fetal Alcohol Syndrome you have to drink repeatedly. I dont know to what extent but drinking and being pregnant dont mix. Just take the test on Tuesday and dont worry. Worrying alot is probably worse than a one time drunk.

The baby would probably be fine. Lots of women dont realize they are pregnant right away and drink of smoke. My friend had no idea she was pregnant and she had several drinks during her birthday and found out a couple of weeks later she was pregnant. The baby was born completely healthy!

It is a misconception that you need to drink a lot during pregnancy to give your baby FAS. I know, my boyfriend is a victim. He actually has FAE, which is Fetal Alcohol Effects, a milder form of the disease. We are members of our local FAS/FAE Asscociation, and NO alcohol is best. It has been proven that even a few drinks can affect a baby. I wouldn't worry much until you know if you are preganant for sure. Once you know there are tests that can be performed. Good luck, and try not to worry, okay?

The baby should be fine. I didn't know I was pregnant... I drank and had a few smokes in my drunken stupier (not a smoker)..... and my daughter was born completely healthy. Try not to worry... take a test to be sure. If you are pregnant ... you can always let your doc/midwife know so they have a heads up.
Take Care and good luck!!!

With drinking and pregnancy it's all or nothing, either it will completely affect the baby or nothing will happen. There's no middle ground. But you shouldn't worry, in most cases (about 95%) having a little drink early on in the pregnancy won't hurt anything. Habitual drinking could end with a miscarriage or FHS. I don't think you have anything to be concerned with.

Try to stop worrying about what you did BEFORE you knew you were pregnant (if you are) and, instead, focus on taking the best care of your baby and yourself now. You can't change the past, so don't be hard on yourself. I'm sure one night of drinking won't hurt your baby...just dont do it again. Good luck.

I'm sure it won't - especially if it was just once. Many many people i know personally drank before realising they were pregnant and the baby turned out fine. I also drank one night before realising i was pregnant - i am 21wks pregnant with a perfectly healthy baby!

Best of luck! :)

If you are pregnant, probably it will not do major harm to you baby. Obviously, you are aware that you will have to swear off booze for the next nine months if you are pregnant. In any case. Good for you for being concerned, and Good Luck!
