Recently, I been gettin stopped while I'm goin home by cops. How could I make them stop stoppin me witout changin my clothes or stuff like that? P.S. I live in 11412, N.Y. near Jamaica

They're probably harassing you because of the Sean Bell police murder. They are busy looking for an imaginary "fourth man" with a gun, so they can exonerate those detectives who shot that guy 50 times. So, they will be harassing every Black or Latino man with a record for the next few weeks. That's probably why they were harassing you.

You should contact the Center for Constitutional Rights (they're in Manhattan - call 411 and get the number) and their lawyers can help you protect yourself against police harassment.

Seriously there is nothing you can do but become white. My old boss was a lawyer from the carribean and he had dreads and got pulled over all the time. Its called racial profiling. Its pretty much legal and unfortunaly there is nothing you can do.

ask them why they are stopping you ,by law they must be able to answer you immediately.
Keep records of when and by who , it gets to the point that it is harassment and they must be accountable for that.
