or rather, what is more typical over there, 14k, 18k; he said he thinks it is 24k, but that seems really unusual since 24k would be a much softer gold.

yes 24 carot over there . it will be a much softer gold too and much richer in colour I have many braclets and necklaces in that colour looks really odd since were use to the stuff here. they will have markings on the inside of the braclet if yours a necklace it will be on the clasp but not stamped like our here its usually is different.

It depends on the jeweler. Some use 24k(unalloyed gold) but most is in 14k and 18k because its cheaper. Also, by the way, you can ask your friend if they know whether or not it is 14, 18 or 24k gold.

Warning: Some jewelry may not be made entirely of gold, mabye just painted with gold.

its deff 22k, or under 24 is very plyable..and average saudi gold is 22k 18k, i just came back last year, and every thing was 18. its beautful jewlery tho haha

umma acutlly 24k is very popluar ther.. so im guessing thas prolly wat it s.. take it to a jewler and get it cheked out.. i thnk they can tell u that for free...
