my SO seems to think that because women twist, jump, or pull to get their jeans on, that the jeans are too tight. we have been around & round on this topic...as *I* also do this and no way are my jeans too tight. He seems to think that unless the jeans can be pulled straight up, with no resistance, the jeans are too tight for the person wearing them.

what does everyone think? we are going to put this topic to rest based on the response here.

thanks

It depends on what you think "too tight" is.
From my experience ans from what I have seen from others is that most people have to pull or twist to get their pants on.. I guess they are too tight if you have to pull, twist and jump too many times before your pants will come on.

It's one thing if the jeans need a little tugging to get up, but if you really have to jump and twist around to get them on then they are definitely too tight. Jeans that are too tight like this aren't flattering on anyone either. They can make legs look even bigger (the "sausage" look, where it appears that the person's legs are squeezed into the jeans), can have a flattening effect on an otherwise nice rear end, can cause a "pooch" over the waistband if you have any semblance of a stomach, and in extreme cases, give a person the dreaded camel toe. I would recommend buying a larger size. There is a distinct difference between a jean that is fitted and one that's too tight.

I somewhat agree with the SO. If you have to twist, jump and pull hard to get your jeans on, they are too tight. But, if you just pull them straight on with no resistance, I would say that they are too loose. Because women have hips and fannys, unlike guys who have none, I would say some slight resistance and a little pulling is just about right.

I can tell when my jeans are starting to get too small when this starts to happen. So I would say yes they are probably too tight, try the next size up they may be more comfortable and you won't feel like you are trying to squeeze into a pair of jeans (they will probably look better too)

Getting your jeans on shouldn't be so much of a struggle that you have to jump up and down to get them up, but if you can just pull them up, then they are too big. Jeans should hug your hips at least a little, otherwise they look saggy and kinda boyish.

If you have to really pull to get them on, I'd say they are too tight. If you only give them a little tug, then I think they are good. Basically, if you can't grab a bit of the jean fabric from your thigh, they are too tight.

it's okay for your jeans to fit snuggly. The way you described the as Chingy would say jumping up and down just to put 'em on, don't seem TOO tight. the only way a jean would be too tight is when they're so tight you can hardly walk or your thighs are literally glued into one place. Alittle wigglin around don't mean nothin. okayyy :)

Well, if you do have to jump up and down to get them on, then apparently they are too tight because if they fit just right they would just slide right on, like he said. If they were too big, then they would fall off, and if they were too tight, you would have to "twist jump or pull" to get them up. i would consider going up a jean size.

I don't have this problem and I do have hips and a butt. Perhaps it's because your jeans don't have stretch in them? If they do, then yes they are just a size too small. Jeans with stretch in them are good for curvy women. Jeans without stretch are good for women that aren't curvy because they hold you together giving you a shape more, and you do have to struggle to get the non-stretch jeans on.

I'll have to correct myself...Yes I do do this. Sometimes. With one pair of pants that are a size too small for me. As for the rest of my pants, no I do not.

Well if they're stretch jeans then you have to pull and tug on it and jump around to get them on, lol. But if they aren't stretch then you shouldn't have to, or they are "too tight". Since they aren't stretchy the material won't give, and they look like another layer of skin.lol. Goodluck
