Finally a serious question, I dont know that their is a good question, diplomacy doesnt work when one party doesnt care, I just hope the Iranians will see reason.

Well, we know you don't make plutonium when making fuel for nuclear power plants, and we know the UN inspectors havn't seen the facility the plutonium they found at the nuclear waste site came from. We also know they found nuclear warhead plans on a laptop computer that was left out during a surprise visit. So it's obvious, combined with their missile ability, the nuclear and ballistic missile ability of their ally, North Korea, that Iran will probably have nuclear warhead equipped missiles before the UN can agree to fart. Hoping for regime change is optimistic (since 1979!). We cant' take on a conventional war with Syria and Iran on our own, (and that is how Iraq got on our plate, and why Syria and Iran want us out of there so desperately because they do plan aggression and expect a military response). Yet we also know Isreal has nukes and will use them if they fear they have no other hope of survival, and defintely if any are used against them, and that situation has no good end because it means the Middle East is a radioactive glass desert, forget about the oil, we'll all be dealing with radioactive fallout for months or years and lingering illness and death worldwide. There is always the chance we might convince Russia, China and France to isolate Iran until they give up the idea of nuclear arms, and teh UN will take action. We can bury our heads in the sand and wait to get our butt kicked. Or we could destroy Iran's oil fields and refineries, sink any ship of theirs and neutralize their air and armor forces, and ring them with anti-missile batteries, and hope to God they havn't already smuggled nukes to terrorists. Of course we'll be able to trace the radiation from any weapon back to it's source (as they are doing with the polonium 210), but by then it's too late to stop it. PREVENTION of a nuclear attack is the goal here, not keeping an oil rich country from having electricity, but stopping a person who makes daily speeches everyday he will destroy the USA (like taking on the tallest kid in the room to prove you are "tough") and Isreal so that muslims around the world will look to him as their leader. He's just another Hitler, who isn't going to make the same mistakes as Hitler or Hussein. So rather than going in and crippling Iran and have our so called friends and allies at the UN stab us in the back, we will sit on our thumb and wait to be attacked, and everyone will howl that our government "allowed" it to happen. I wouldn't live in NYC or Washington, (or Damascus or Tehran for that matter) is all I can say.

First of all, lets get rid of the President part because if you really understood the way the world works, you would know how very little authority the president actually has.
Second, talking to them would not hurt much. Iranians are not as Anti-US as Dateline NBC would like you to think.

I am an Iranian and I am totally against my government policy . However , I think we should have Nuclear technology . We can not always rely on our oil . In addition , people of Iran hate their government . Also , I have to mention Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was not elected by us and it was cheated . Also I have to say my filthy , ******* president to do what American government wants him to do. There is no such a thing about Iran making nuclear weapon like the situation in Iraq , it is another reason for American government to exploit our oil better .So they lie to their people about Muslims hating Christians and then my ******* president come and say we should wipe Is rail off the planet that is what exactly his master (American government ) has dictated to him. Then , we have some American people who think Muslim hate them and hate Jews that is exactly American government want them believe . Them Iranians who in fact peace loving people now must wander why Americans think we hate them. Then America bomb Iran with the help of my ******* filthy , ugly leaders in order to take advantage of our oil .

Ask Cheney why while he was VP of Haliburton they provided Iran with the material used to construct the facility for making the nuclear reactor in 1999.

You would not want me as your President, take my word for that.
My solution would not be pretty.
First, several political and religious leaders would suddenly
disappear without a trace.
Second, I would send in highly trained people of Arab, preferably
Iranian, decent to take over the country.
After that there is no problem.

Sit down with my counterpart face to face and get the problems out in the open, one person to another. If it took several tries, so be it as long as there was progress and keeping in mind no one can have a win-win in negotiations, the has to be a mutual spirit of compromise.

I'd tell the people the truth. It's a power plant they're after. And it's there oil that we're after. Problem solved.

Try to diplomatically persuade them to stop. If they don't, bomb their enrichment facilities much like Israel did to Iraq's WMD sites in the '80s.
