Because people are selfish and irresponsible...well the ones that feel that way are at least! I think everyone is entitled to a choice...that choice is weather or not to have sex and to protect or not to protect against pregnancy, after that there shouldn't be a choice (except in extreme siuations of rape etc...). I agree competely w/ you!

♥♪♦♫ Every women that has gone through with a abortion goes through a mental challenge as it is, there are certain guilt's that a person feels when they are feeling as if they have done something mortally wrong. Women are very emotional and deals with matters from their heart. If people could just learn to mind their business this world would be a better place there are many reasons why women get abortion and all of the women who have had to put it behind them so that they can move on to the next day and keep focus in life, but then there are people who don't mind their business and try to throw it up in women's faces and say things like you should not have did that or you have just killed a baby. No women needs to hear that after a abortion she already feels bad, I think that everybody has the right to do what ever they want with their body and it is nobody BIZ. From a women's point of veiw I thnk that it is very responsible if a condom breaks and that person is not ready for a baby and abort it instead of going through with the pregnacy and then we find the baby in a trash can. Then everybody will be like damn she should of gotten a abortion if she was going to do that but then guess what it is too late that that will be a 5 to 9 lb pound baby. Now think about that.♥♪♦♫

I think the answer to this question is never clear cut. Although I personally would never have an abortion there may be many reasons someone may want or need to. Is it killing a baby? in a way yes but also no. It has started developing but has not taken on all of the qualities yet. Every person would probably have a different idea & answer and this debate will always stir up strong emotions for either side.
A relative of mine had a horrible husband & had already had young kids. When she became pregnant the only solution for her at the time was to abort. I think she made the right decision knowing her circumstances. Could I have done it?? No!

nicely, first, slightly one has human DNA, no longer a micro organism or an endemic. you've compared the fetus to a tumor in case you had to argue it from a DNA point of view, yet a tumor would not in many situations style a man or woman. second, it is criminal besides, so it would not be counted, if a lady needs to kill her infant before the" line contained in the sand" is drawn, out of convenience, then she has the criminal proper to it, even if it is style of a crappy element to do to the daddy. little ones have absolutely survived abortions....it is style of unhappy. third, it is irresponsible no longer to apply a condom and a BC pill contained in the first position. a range of of kids are purely blind to reproductive well being mostly, that is why they don't get safe practices and finally end up with a STD or a baby. Fourth, a fetus absolutely is a sentient being that would want to dream, listen, keep in ideas, and sense discomfort. You look to have made up your ideas about it, and that is okay.

People are very selfish and disconnected from the reality of life and what is expected of you from God. If you believe in God you can't possibly believe that abortions are right. Point Blank!!!!
People say all the time, DON'T JUDGE ME!!! but me personally I'd rather people judge me and have a chance to change, than for God to Judge me...Because when he's judging its over!!!
I understand that life throws us all kinds of unexpected things, but when confronted with something that you think is impossible(Like Having A Baby) it says alot about your character if you take the easy SELFISH way out. Killing your unborn baby is a sin and should be a crime. God will never give u more than u can handle. If you have faith, u will take on the responsibility that he has placed for you.

I don't know why some people think that way. I agree with you it is appalling. Adoption is such a better way to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. All parties involved benefit from it. The birthparents get the benefit of not becoming parents when they feel unready, the adoptive parents get the benefit of a precious little baby to love and raise, and the baby gets the benefit of a loving, stable home. I wish more people understood that adoption is a better choice than abortion.

Candleinthewind, THANK YOU! I get so tired of trying to make that point, and you summed it up very well.
The reason people say things like that is because having an abortion is not killing a baby. It's aborting an unwanted clump of cells.
And if my mother had decided to abort me, how the hell would I know? I don't suppose I'd care, in that case.

Because they are immature, short sighted and lack a love for children and humanity. That said they must also be unaware of the consequences on the mental state of the person who has the abortion.

Sometimes abortion is not something that a girl chooses to do. In sme cases, the condom broke or the woman was on birth control so long that her body became immune to it that it wasn't working properly. So before you judge someone remeber that everyone is human, we all make mistakes, and also birth control is only 99.9% SAFE!

Its because they believe its none of YOUR business, as I believe.
If YOU know a person having an abortion, by all means, express yourself. Otherwise, its none of your business. Call your Congressman, your representatives and your local leaders, but don't shove it in our faces. Please.
Those people who say things like that are doing it for two reasons:
#1 - to get back at the Christian Right and you for pushing yourselves on the American Public and
#2 - to mock you. Just ignore them.
And silly, nonesensical statements like "they should be glad their Mothers didn't have abortions" is so sad. Its like the most ret*rd*d thing ANYONE can think of to say. Please think of something at least original.

People can be desensitized morally and also in terms of the senses. For example its not unusual for people just watching TV or listening to the radio to here allot of well respected people arguing for it. Most people tend to look up to doctors, politicians and media people like well known writers, journalists and so on.
Also, many nowadays look up to psycho babbling TV presenters like Sally Jessy Raphael. If a very dominant type of personality like Sally Jessy argues for or against something, you will find allot of people just nodding their heads in agreement. And if its a trend, then you find allot of people running scared to the crowd. Otherwise they class you as something unpleasant.
In terms of the senses, its just conditioning. If people sit down and focus on a program that condones something like abortion then they are in a way feeding their minds. Like when you watch a violent film you might feel angry after it. Eventually you in a way become emotionally desensitized to the pain.
