I am not sure where I heard this saying. It is logical, especially where I live, which (in Middlesbrough) is largely elephant - free, apart from the woman at number 14.

Did I dream up this saying or has anyone else heard it??, there is nothing on the web. Its logical that if you stay still in one space for long enough - all of life will one day pass you by....

maybe it is something to do with the circus coming to town? I live in one (Middlesbrough)

A modern day example would be - go with the same numbers each week and the lottery will be yours? Perhaps we should include number 14?

I too live in Middlesbrough and I haven't seen any evidence of elephants, nor heard of your phrase. Though there was one on Clairville Common last year (or was it this year?) but Mayor Mallon shot it. (Good old Robo-Mayor)

This means that there are an infinite number of things that can happen in one place, and if you wait forever you will see everything

it might be pretty boring though....

so you have to go to those things you want to see, not just sit around waiting

(although they WILL come eventually)

Oh my god, we're at it again!!! I've heard this one too and yes put 1,2,3,4,5,6 on the lottery and you're in with a chance. I don't know where this one comes from but it gives us hope, don't know what your dreams include but lets hope it doesn't involve elephants in your drive.

Maybe it means be patient. Be patient and things will happen. Even things that you don't expect to happen will happen...elephants. And, no I have never heard of this saying but I like it..it's a keeper.

Even if you live in Africa an elephant may never pass your door even after you put a mound of Planter salted Peanuts on your stoop. It is because There is more humans than Elephants plus elephants like unsalted peanuts. Duh!
