My son was born on holloween so he is 4 weeks old .... He has been feeding fine with no problems at all with feeding or spit-up for that matter... but all of a sudden 4 days ago he just started spiiting up ALOT! I am talking about like the exorcist ! Almost eveytime that I feed him he will spit up all that he ate almost... But he isnt crying or whinning at all really. The only time that he does cry is when he wants a bottle.

My wife stopped breastfeeding at 2 weeks because she dryed up. Our last child we gave her Parents Choice (from Walmart) and she had no problems. So I went and bought him (my 4 week old) the same thing and we had no problem with the first can and then his Dr. says that he should be on Enfimil and gave us two cases of it and he was fine for a little bit. but now he spits it all back up almost 8 out of 10 times ..... Should I switch back to the Walmart Brand ....?

I think you need to have the doctor check him out just to be safe. Maybe he's not able to digest the formula properly. Sometimes a baby will seem to do ok with a new formula for a day or two but then develop problems with it. So my advice as a mom.. talk to your doctor and rule out digestive problems.

I would take him to the doctor. It would seem from your description he's not keeping that much down during each feeding and that could lead to problems. Also stand firm when you tell the Doc that he's spitting up way too much. My daughter spit up a little about every 10 minutes for her first 3 months of life it seemed so when she got a stomach flu and was projectile vomiting it took her actually vomitting on the Doc before they would believe I wasn't over reacting.

some babies just spit up. mine did the same thing, and it was projectile. it scared me because it seemed that she would spit up everything she just ate. i was told that she would grow out of it and she did. some things you may want to try, is burp him after every ounce that he eats to slow him down a little and make sure there arent any air bubbles in his tummy. it could just be a phase but it may also be the formula. if the parents choice formula has iron, then i dont see why the doctor would say to switch him. just because he has had good experiences with enfamil, it doesnt mean that your son will. i would put him back on the parents choice and see if he still spits up, if he doesnt, you know that enfamil just doesnt agree with his tummy, if he does, you know its just a phase he is going through.

If he's spitting up a lot take him to the doctor. If it's like projectile vomiting, he could be really sick. Talk to your doctor again. You can try changing formula's if you want first. They are all basically the same these days, the doctor just might be getting free stuff from enfimil reps at his office.

I would definitely try another brand, especially if what you are using has extra iron, but also visit the doc.

There's nothing wrong with the Wal-Mart brand. It's great that your doc likes Enfamil, but you don't make quite as much as a doctor, eh?

I don't think you need to worry about "shocking his little tummy" if he is spitting everything up anyway.

It could be that your baby has developed a milk allergy. Or the change in formula is messing him up. Try the wal mart kind again for now and then contact the doctor, its nothing to worry about it just something to do with his formula.

I would switch back to Parents Choice and make an appointment with your doctor about it. Spitting up is normal but that is excessive.

I would talk to your doctor but also i know alot of people who have babies who's stomachs cant hack the enfamil and neither could my little girl. I honestly would suggest Similac Advance, but also if your doing a formula switch do it gradually so it dosent shock their little tummys

If he is not in pain and does not cry, you could be over feeding him. Sometimes they cut back on their food intake! Just a suggestion...good luck, my daughter had a similar situation. :)

He might have acid reflux.
