Is the singularity near? An era of machine over men?

Will we be able to live longer and look like we want to and never work (machine slaves)? What other helpful technological developments do you foresee?

Maybe some day what you put forward will come to pass. They've already got robots doing the back breaking labors that humans used to do so the sky's the limit. It all comes down to just how far we are willing to allow our technology dictate our actions and our lives. :)=
