I don't plan on doing it as a main occupation, but one day I would like to do some private violin lessons on the side.

I believe that students of music should be given the opportunity to create half of their curriculum based on what they enjoy. As a violinist, I really enjoyed and prospered from my teacher allowing me to follow my method study with Irish fiddling. That's something I got into and gave me a bit of quick self-gratification.

I also believe that many goals need to be set. Lots of small goals instead of infrequent huge goals. In a world where very few music students enjoy their instruments after a long period of time, continual motivation should be granted.
