1. immense pressure exerted on vessels/explorers as they go deeper
2. air supply. it would be better if you can directly get your water from the ocean
3. mode of transport. going down is a long trip

To fully explore the ocean people have to find a way to construct an underwater device that can hold people and withstand the extreme pressure and low temperatures of the deepsea water.

Challenges that need to be overcome are an immunity to deep sea temperature and pressure. Other challenges would be time - if yo usink and rise too fast in water, you can faint and die. Hope I helped.
