I have a 13 month old daughter who I still breastfeed regularly, I had a peroid in september and then 38 days later got it again. I was due to get it on the 1st of december and still haven't got it. I took a a couple of pregnancy test cause Im trying to fall pregnant the first test which I took 10days after intercourse like it said too came back with a very faint positive line, so I waited for my peroid to be due and tested again and now its negative and I tested again with the same results. Could I be pregnant or is my peroid messed up cause Im still breastfeeding? Thanks in advanced for you advice.

Kudos to you for STILL breastfeeding! (Not nasty, some people are so uneducated). Yes, it is probably messing with your cycles. Wait another wk, test again and if still neg. I would wait next cycle and if you miss it call the doc just in case.

For anyone who would like to EDUCATE themselves before bashing someone who is doing something very healthy for their child here is some reading:

There is nothing wrong with choosing formula it's up to the individual...don't hate on someone for wanting to chose what is right for their child and themselves.

Dont listen to that first idiot. Breastfeeding up to 2 years old is totally normal. It sounds like you could have had a chemical pregnancy. In other words you found out extremely early that you were pregnant but then miscarried it just a few days later. Which at that point would be just like a normal period. Many woman dont ever even though this has even happened to them unless they test, like you did.

Breastfeeding makes it harder to tell if you're pregnant or not. Generally it is thought that breastfeeding keeps you from having a regular period, or one at all. And it is very possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding. If you were due on the first, I would wait until like the 7th or the 8th of Dec, or just make an appt to see your doctor.

And for the first person who answered, generally a baby is breastfed for at least 2 years of their lives. It is not nasty, it is perfectly normal.

If you had a faint positive and then no postive you in all liklihood had a chemical pregnancy.

Your skipped periods are otherwise probably caused by still breastfeeding. Your body, in a natural protection stratogy, will not get pregnancy while nursing. First off because the hormones conflict, and secondly, because the first baby who is alive and viable might not survive without breast milk.

If you're trying to get pregnant its a better idea to go ahead and stop breastfeeding.

Sorry...I can't answer your question...so i'm leaving a comment...I can't believe that you are still breastfeeding a 13 month old kid. That is nasty. Do you know that they can eat now? I truely hope that you are not pregnant again. Sorry for the ugly comment but that is really not normal.
