The Squier Strat pack is a good option, probably one of the best.
Also, many places have the Fender Starcaster (its a Strat pack). I dont know much about the amp that comes with it, but the guitar is a cheaper version of the real Stratocaster.

I dont know about First Act, but imo its not a reputable guitar company. If your budget is tiny though, then you might want to try the Starcaster by Fender. Its found at stuff like Costco & Target these days.

I dont like how Epiphone guitars look, but they are Gibson's junior company. Many people like their guitars, and Gibson/Epiphone usually have quality guitars, such as the Les Paul(eew shape) or the SG(this one is good).

Overall, I would get the Squier Strat Pack (Or Fat Strat, which has a humbucker in the bridge posistion) if you have the money, (which is not THAT much), or if you're low on cash, get the Starcaster pack.

Most beginner packs are okay, but keep in mind that you will probably end up buying a more "serious" guitar in a year or so. If I were you, I'd go for the Ibanez Jumpstart pack. While all of the ones you mentioned are pretty good , the Ibanez has above average performance for a beginner guitar. If you can't get one of those, my second choice would be the Strat pack or the Epiphone pack. I'd stay away from Crate and FirstAct because both are poorly made.

If you think they will be serious about playing guitar it would be best to spend a little extra money and buy a half way good sounding guitar ¾ size Baby Taylor but Squier for the money or if full size any Seagull sounds good best sound for the money they start new about $350.00 got one of mine for $150.00 at a pawn shop

get an epiphone junior or just an epiphone. the LP junior player pack is 150. the epiphone player pack is around 200. they are the best to being with. if you want to go more towards a wild shaped guitar, like a metal guitar, then go with a bc rich starter pack.

I suggest you start with an acoustic pack. maybe even just the acoustic guitar if possible. you get what you paid for when buying guitars. grab yourself a decent acoustic first and grow the finger strength before getting an electric.

Oscar Schmidt OE30 by Washburn. It's amazing to read about all of these experienced guitarists picking one up just because they're so darn cool.

There's something like 600 reviews here and each one tells a different story.

I dunno why, but I'm leery of those paks. I guess they're OK, but....

If I hadda pick, I'd get either the Epiphone one or the Squier. Only b/c those are 2 names I know well.
