I'll be turning 13 in a few days and for the past year or 2, christmas just doesn't seem special anymore.
I miss being all excited about it, but I just dont get excited...
So, my question is; How can I get into the Christmas spirit? Any Movies I can watch, songs I can listen too. I dont know, things I can do, I guess, im just really wanting to spread christmas cheer etc etc this year. So, Help?

I always like to watch some Christmas movies. It's sappy, but "It's a Wonderful Life" always sort of puts me in that holiday mood.

By the way...Merry Christmas.

I wonder what it is that could be making it less special. Could it be the unrelenting commercialism that has caused us all to lose a little of our Christmas spirit?
I would think about your very favorite things related to Christmas and try to have those in place for this year.
I had a very hard time getting into the holiday spirit for several years after my mom died. It just wasn't the same and I felt myself at a loss. I just had to realize that it wasn't the same but I could start doing some things differently and that helped.
Besides the old movies and looking at pictures and talking about favorite memories, I find that giving is the best thing.
It really feels great to give something - not necessarily a tangible present. There are lots of ministries that can help with that: Angel Tree (gives gifts to the children of people in jail), letters to Santa at the Post Office, the Salvation Army, Hadassah. Maybe you can do something nice for an older neighbor who's having trouble moving around.
Remember the holiday is about the birth of Christ, the hope of the world. Even if you're not religious, hope is special and so is Christmas.

A couple movies I like to watch are Miracle on 34th St, and It's a Wonderful life, The Peanuts Christmas movie is a good one too!

To get excited about the season, ask your mom or dad if you can adopt a family, (or even just one person) so you can "surprise them". It doesn't have to be expensive, maybe some groceries and a toy or two for kids. Call your church or even the Salvation Army to get a name or a family.

Another idea is to be a "Secret Santa", you could do this for your teacher, the librarian, your mailman, an elderly neighbor, really anyone who would benefit from a little Christmas cheer. You could bake some cookies or just make little cards with holiday sayings. It doesn't have to be expensive. If you want and can affvord it, buy little stocking stuffers, sox, chapstick, hand cream or lotion, small votive candles, use your imagination.

The point is you can get excited about the season by bringing the jjoy of the season to others.

Hope this helps and good luck, enjoy the magic of the season!

Christmas spirit is in your heart. Not in a song or a movie. What made Christmas special when you were younger? Was it because you believed in Santa and no longer do? If that's the case, it's time for you to beleive in the SPIRIT of Santa (and the spirit of giving). Give with your heart and you'll be rewarded a thousand times over. Bake cookies and pass them out to friends, neighbors and families. Ask you friends to go carolling with you. Yes, it's a little goofy, but it's fun! Go out of your way to be nice to people. Help the cranky old lady down the street carry in her groceries or with her trash cans. If you can't afford to give gifts that cost anything, make some homemade cards. Include a sketch or a poem or even just a sincere note letting the recipeint know how special they are to you.

Try listening to famous Christmas songs like White Christmas, and The Christmas Song, Count Your Blessings, Grandma got runover by a reighndeer. If that doesn't work try decorating your room with Christmas decorations. Maybe looking at that everyday will help you get enthused. Also, try doing fun stuff with friends such as sledding (if you have snow), ice skating, shopping for Christmas presents, etc. And, maybe try watching Christmas movies. There are a lot of them out there, so just keep a look out for them. Ask your Mom or Dad if they can help you with any of this. Hope it helps!!

I like to get together with people who I see every Christmas (like my parents and siblings), have a movie night with lots of treats, and watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Sometimes we break out the photo albums and remember past Christmases, which is always nice. Put on some Christmas tunes and do some holiday baking and gift wrapping. The magic of a child's Christmas, once lost, is gone forever, but the memories of it will always remain, and there are lots of things to look forward to in the Holidays to come. Best wishes for a very happy holiday!

I know it can be hard to get into the Christmas Spirit as you get older and life gets stressful. I think a good way to really feel that spirit is to do something for others, do some volunteer work this hoilday season. Giving to others will help to show you the real spirit of the season and give you in return that feeling of caring and Christmas cheer.

Go down to the Salvation Army and or a homeless shelter where you live and volunteer. Serve them dinner and when you see all the kids that don't have much you will have a change in your heart, then you can truly receive the Christmas spirit because that's why Jesus was born. He was born to help others. If you can't do that just try to find someone who doesn't have much and do something nice or special for them. God Bless You.

I get into the spirit when I look at greeting cards. Works with eCards too. Egreetings.com and iMac.com make great cards.... also, check our hallmark.com and look at their free eGreetings.
If you're running around town, stop by a special shop, like Pier1 or World Market. They have great decorations out right now.
Bake Christmas cookies. All the fun is in the decorating. Of course, it's better with a friend.
Here's a fun site too, pass it on. Make a virtual snowflake.
Merry Christmas Girl.

go to your local hospital and ask what you can do to help with the Christmas program in the the childrens' ward or make little gifts for them or read them a story. there's nothing like seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child to bring back the Christmas Spirit. good luck and God Bless
