I'm a very novice networking person but I want to be able to access file while on my laptop from my pc. Both are hooked up to a wireless router; the pc directly and the laptop obviously connected wirelessly. What doo I need to do? And remember, I don't know all the lingo so please dumb down the answer!

Another way to do this is to click "add a network place" under the Network Neighboorhood section (open this by clicking on the icon) and either type in your PC's IP address (just copy it from your router setup program). Then click "add a network place", click "next" then double click "choose another network location" then copy your PC's IP address then click next. If you get the "unable to access folder" error double check you have that folder shared on your PC and have folder sharing enabled.

If you don't know your PC's IP address press the start button click on "run" then type cmd from the run menu and then type IPCONFIG and look at the number beside the "IP ADDRESS" text.
Then copy it in the form \\ipaddress\shared folder name\
into the "internet or network address" section then do step OO.
