I have serious issues with the fact that people will destroy trees and the land to put up an office complex or a small shopping center and NO ONE has even leased anything, it's just sitting there! Im like what about the other 50 office spaces within the next 15 miles that are empty that were being used before, shouldnt they use up that space first?
I really get tired of seeing the nice beautiful city I live in being destroyed by the brown and brick and the green gone.

Anyone else annoyed by this waste?

sara true BUT one down the road from me sat empty for almost 7 months and now only has 2 shops in it, its ridiculous. Just cause we have alot of money flowing through our town doesnt mean we need more shops

Yeah, a lot of places are over-bulding and producing "sprawl." More people hsould conserve nature and not just destroy everything. Espcially since trees provide oxygen and all..

Yes it is annoying to see so much space going to waste but if u really look into the waste is becuz of the outrageous rents that these building owners want for the space available. That's the main problem, so the renter goes out and gets a grant or a business loan and it is easier to buy a piece of land destroy the environment it was on and replace it with another ugly stone structure or a money making parking lot. Enterprising that's what it's called unfortunately.

Oh, I feel so bad about your city... green is so much better and beautiful than bunch of tall buildings... i love trees and they make places look so nice and the fact is that we need to keep them for our own good... that's where the air we breath comes from... 1 tree suppliers air to 2 people... i live in NYC, and there's not so much green in here except the Central Park, Bryant's Park and so on... i love these places because they are so beautiful, because the nature is so nice there... it's all green... i think destroying the nature is a sin and so unnecessary especially if there are ways of avoiding it( like you said there are available office spaces)... it's really sad...

Yes. I think to avoid sprawl and decay the cities should have a rule that a certain amount of available buildings have to be occupied before new ones could be built. There may be some instances in which building space runs out, but city planners and studying demographics should prevent that problem from happening too often.

It Is A Sin How They Destroy land but so many people have been able to fight for the rights to keep land and preserve its trees and critters its slow but its happening all over the world saving endangered wildlife and forest.......but when you take people who will deliberately set fires out in California then I say they not only ruined all this land but have killed firefighters so young with familes I say give them the death penalty..I hope we can tell each other some day what a beautiful world we have for our children.....great question my friend luv kara

Drives me nuts in my town, where we have acres of office space no one wants to lease, but they want to plow up a perfectly good plot of land with trees on it to make...(get ready for it)... MORE office space!

i do too. thats why we need to use hemp from the cannibis plant for this.
we need to legalize weed.
hemp is more durable and longer lasting when used for paper. hemp can even be used for gas.
it will never be legalized because the paper, tobacco, wood, cotton, and alcohol industries would lose money. these are the true rulers of this country.

Very much so. No one should clear cut. Conservation cutting is the only way to go. It is also more profitable over a 5 year period.

That does if annoying. In my neighborhood builders are knocking down trees to build houses when there are still brand new ones available for purchase. I believe in progress, but we must also protect our trees.
