You'll rarely make a million in a career except for the big company CEO's. It is always possible and will never be gone as long as freedom is the overriding concept in personal and business life. It is more likely to make a million dollars by founding your own company, but it is three times, or twenty times harder than working a 9 to 5 where you don't have to do the work AND worry about company bills and payroll.

Real estate, talent management, law, medicine, investments and sales are all professions where you can make millions annually. Anyone can make millions in a lifetime. If you make $25K/yr. for 40 years, that's a million bucks. In any corporation, the person, other than the CEO who makes the most money is the top salesperson.
Obviously if you have athletic or artistic talent, there are other avenues, but for the rest of us those are the legitimate, legal ways.
