What's a better Christmas present for relatives?

I spend about $10-15 on my aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws for Christmas presents. I'm debating between a crystal cross that I've seen advertised at a local department store (approx. 7"-8" tall), or a gift bag full of "needfulls" (post-it's, highlighters, binder clips, markers, double-sided tape, etc.) What do you think is better?

The cross. The needful things wont last long (paper products) even though they're in need. The cross will last longer if hung. And crystal is a nice gift to give to relatives. I was in the same situation last year. give my sibling paper products for new printer/office or a crystal musical horse. She told me she loves the horse and it's on display.

Never having met them (or you) all I can reasonably do is give you some questions to ask yourself. The answers will help you choose well. Do the recipients prefer practical items or decorative ones? Are the practical items something they wouldn't get themselves? Do they have a good spot to display the decorative item or would it just be clutter once the newness wore off? Would crystal fit well with the decor of those to whom you'd give the cross? Can the practical items be somehow made personal -- favorite colors, etc? Do you need to get the same thing for each one?

Ask yourself questions like this and you'll be able to come up with a better answer than any of us here could give you since it's not US for whom you're shopping!

Definitely NEEDFULS. The cross may be beautiful, but it will just sit somewhere and collect dust. Everytime the recipient uses the needfuls, they'll think of you and how thoughtful you were!
