Sarelli why do you feel this way? You should look at the link..it can really open your eyes. You might find that it's ok to see breasts in magazines, videos, tv, etc but when they are used as they are supposed to be used, for feeding our children, you think it's offensive? I don't expect that kind of comments from a woman who should know better.

Wow, I love this article. I never thought about it that way before, but that person is right. People think that babies receiving nutrition in public is offensive, yet scantily clad celebrities are just fine. It's all about context. As a breastfeeding mom, I really appreciate that there are people do realize that nursing is neither offensive or graphic. I try to cover up as much as possible but I'm not going to deny my daughter a basic need just because I'm in Starbucks. If the cover-up slips accidentally, well I'm sorry. I pick it up as quickly as I can and cover up. And I'm also not going to relegate myself and my baby to a stinky, gross restroom. Even the best-kept public bathrooms are still PUBLIC. I wouldn't want to eat my pizza in the bathroom and I'm not going to make my daughter eat her lunch in there either! Anyway, *stepping down from soapbox*...thanks again for posting.

I totally agree with what that person was saying with those pictures. Unfortunately many closed minded people will think that it is ALL porn - even the breastfeeding and are not okay with any of it. They just excuse the covers of Rolling Stone and all the others because these are just celebrities looking for attention. They feel that real, everyday people should know better and cover up. They just don't want to accept that breastfeeding a child and exhibitionism are two very different things. It is very sad.

I love that. This is the same thing I told someone the other day. I was reading a baby magazine that had a woman on the front breastfeeding and people were calling the mag porn, and so sickening, etc...and then I said , but I bet if they get Playboy, or Maxim in their mailbox then its ok......

That's amazing! So true that people get so offended by breastfeeding but yet, there are naked women on magazine covers all the time (and that's not offensive). Breastfeeding is the best thing in the world for babies. It's ashame that our society is so hypocritical.

Great posting! I agree! I don't want to feel ashamed to feed my baby anywhere I want, when the press inundates us with these kind of images on a daily basis.

That was beautiful!! I wish the closed minded ppl in this world would see that breasts were ment for nourishing our babies. It's the most natural thing a mother can do!!! Thanks for that link!!

Actually I didn't need to see any of it, thanks.

I know breastfeeding is completely natural, but I don't need to see someone else's breast....in any way. When the baby needs to eat, mom can use a sweater or blanket to cover up.
As far as the magazines go...they're worse because that's not something every person (including children need to see when trying to pay for groceries.)
