I will be graduating soon to become an Elementary Teacher. Do you think a long-life (33 yrs.) Texan would be capable for success here? Thanks for your opinions in advance.

If you are the hard-working, independant type, you'll do fine.

If you happen to meet Bosco and Helen Peters tell them Pat from San Antonio says, "Hi".
(We met years ago when I was Pat from Texas)

It implies great wisdom on your part to ask this question. As you most certainly know, Kiwis are gentle hive beings who value communion, team work, prudent choice of words, and liberalism. I don't want to spell it out too much for you, but if you are a typical Texan, if indeed there is such a thing, you may need to cultivate your fuzzy side big time to fit in here in the land of the sheep and the Chardonnay...
But you're welcome, of course! If anything, we tend to be aware of the things we don't have here, and I must say, I haven't met any Texans in NZ yet. You might just round it off nicely...

So u'll be graduating from a new zealand university and working there? Even if not...I think u'll be very successful. I'd intern there first, just to get the feel and get aquainted with the place. Then u won't feel like an outsider(not that u do). Besides, isn't New Zealand kind of like Texas? I've heard. Good Luck

It's like Canada only with sheep, and rain.

Oh, and ask them what three plus three is. They pronounce six as sex. Great fun.
