a few questions need to be address before you embark on the project. here are a few, you'll think of the rest, any age limits for the kids, what kinds of activities are you planning for them, do you have sponsors, do you have a place for them to meet, hang out, how frequent are you going to meet, does their parents allow them to join your group, are you collecting fees, is it an exclusive club, what type of equipment do you need, who's financing the purchase, ect etc it's no use if you do not have an aim, objective for the group, they need to know what they'll be doing, or else your group will fizzle out for lack of a objective.

I started a club 10 years ago which focused on collecting stamps. I am a collector so I knew what to teach about.

I found a room in an apt complex - the 'community' room and they let me use it for free.

I advertised in the local paper. Our fees were 10cents per meeting. The kids decided upon that fee.

It lasted one hour on Thursdays after school - 4 til 5.

We voted for a President, Sec'y and Treasurer.

We entered a larger stamp club's exhibition/competition and won!! for the Youth Division. That was fun.

I contacted the parents on and off. Sent home papers to explain things. Had parties now and then.

The club dissolved 2 or 3 years ago, after the original kids went to college. I got older too!!

Hope you can find a plan that works for your area.

Don't forget to investigate about insurance stuff - if a kid breaks a leg "on your watch"

Well done, and go get 'em. I'll move to your town!!
