Walmart has those big plastic storage tubs, they have some so big that a Christmas tree can even fit into it. We use them all the time for storage. Much better than cardboard boxes that get ruined easily. Range anywhere from $7 to $20 and they last forever...good luck...

I am a mother of four, my kids have way too many, so what I did is ask them which they want to keep and which one would like them to give them away to someone who would give them another happy home, my six year old keept only a few and the other ones we found them a new home (lol). If your thinking in storage them is most likely your kids wont play with them anymore and I am sure right now you could donate them for a very good cause. But if you still want to keep them, I think the best way to keep them dust free and out of the way is a plastic containers, Rubbermaid is really good and you will find a size that best suits your needs.

I don't have kids myself, but I do have a couple of ideas.
When my niece was little she had more stuffed animals than any kid has a right to. Her Mom stuck the smaller ones to the ceiling in her bedroom, which was really cute. They were visible, but off the floor and out of the way.
Also, try getting a light weight hammick (could make one with a large square fo fabric if you can't find one) and hang it high in a corner and full it with the stuffed animals. They're out of the way and still within sight. Of course these don't solve the dust issue, but hey, can't have everything!

Get one of those huge Rubbermaid containers. These are great and if you stick to one brand, you can even stack them. When I put clothing in them, I cover the top with a garbage bag and then put the lid on. I just pulled one out of the garage that has been there for three years. The clothes looked and smelled like I put them there yesterday.

im not a parent but i do have a little sister who has a ton of stuffed animals. They actually make a sort of netted hamock type of thing for stuffed animals. U can hang it in the corner of the room close to the ceiling and arrange the animals in it. i would also suggest giving some of the animals away to goodwill. if ur kids refuse u could tell them that every stuffed animal they keep has to be arranged neatly on their bed every morning. eventually they'll get tired of doing that and they'll want to give them away.
