what is the best way to make your opinion count in a democracy when all political parties agree on something but you don't. do demonstration ever really do any thing?

Only answer is to rebel - throw the oppressors up against the brick wall eh comrades. Come the revolution everyone will be happy, honest.

There use to be a programme called YOUR SHOUT and you would get so many mins to say how you felt about any subject you liked. I think they should bring that back. Or news people go out on the streets with the mics and cameras to ask the everyday people what they think about the running of the country, or the issues of the day. AND MAKE THE POLITICIANS WATCH THEM. Maybe they would learn something. Sheila.

Haven't really got a solution. Just wanted to say that this must be a major reason why a large proportion of the electorate are so disillusioned and don't actually vote.

Although she wouldn't admit it, Mrs Thatcher was forced to scrap the community charge as a result of the demonstrations.

I remember them well, as I was behind a shield ducking missiles being thrown by a crowd whose aims I agreed with!

run for election, as long as your opinion is the same as the majority then your the man.
