Keep an eye out for the new LED lights. They use about 1/10 the energy and last about twenty years. The price may still be a bit steep this year, but they should be coming down considerably in the next year or two. Or you might find a deal on post-season clearance sales if you're lucky.

Yeah. Replace them often. Sorry. That really is the best way to keep mini-lights working: get new ones!

I've had some sets that have lasted for years. Most of the cheaper ones at least are wired in series, so one bulb goes out they all go out. They are so inexpensive nowadays I don't think it's worth the time to attempt to fix them, unless you KNOW which bulb is out or loose.

You could sometimes bang on them a couple of times and they might work again. But other than that, you'll probaly have to buy new ones and replace them

well, not really. if they start blinking, you can just leave it alone. if you will leave it alone, it'll stop blinking, and it'll start working again.
