whats the meaning of a cylinder picture thats next to my power botton?

ok next to the poewer botton theirs a little cylinder picture what is it also it has a little orange flashing light

I suspect it is your hard drive activity light, which will light up every time your computer accesses its hard drive.

That is your hard drvie activity light. The reason its a cylinder is because tracks on a hard drive are referred to as a cylinder. Each cylinder is broken up into sectors and so forth.
