Tongue Ring Change.?

Question

I've just gotton a tongue ring, and it's been exactly nine days today since I've got it. It is healing pretty well and the swelling has almost completely down. There are some white/yellow discharge, but it's normal because it's common. So is it safe to change it to another ring? I'm planning to change it to a shorter bar with acrylic balls. So guys, calm my nerves and tell me if it is safe of not!

i owuld wait a little longer because i know with any of my peircings if i changed them before they healed completely, tehy got infected.
