You got it right in your question.

It goes top and bottom - and everywhere in between. Since the drop is obviously the same density as the water in the glass and the molecules in the glass are randomly moving about - the molecules in the drop will mill about like the caterers at a crowded party.
It will disperse throughout the glass.

yes -in the deep ocean there are many layers of water in different densities at different levels-salinity or salt content also has a lot to do with it.

it just mixes into the water and can go anywhere (wherever there is a polar bond available for it (cohesion) learnn about this when ur older->too lazy to explain :)
