Or do charity shops etc also have too many they don't know what to do with them? Any suggestions or should I just throw them out? I'm presuming the council wont take them for recycling as most of them are a combination of metal/plastic.

Hello gorgeous.

Charity shops only use their own hangers, and I'm not sure why.

I always keep hangers when I buy clothes because both of my daughters and my lovely but heavy handed wife seem to destroy them regularly.

If ever you come to Hastings bring some round!

I was going to say www.freecycle.org but someone beat me to that. I would take them in a heart beat if you lived close by. As I need hangers myself very badly. But try the freecycle and see what they can do for you. If you go there and don't understand what to do let me know and I will help you with it.

Take them to a charity shop, or you could take them to a local clothes shop and ask them if they want them. You could give them to someone who does regular car boot sales or do a boot sale yourself and bundle a few together and sell them for a few pence.

I know that a local thrift store or womans shelter would be happy to have them... and put them to good use.

It will also keep them out of the landfill, we need to try to "reduce" as much as possible.

Check with a church or local clothes closet! Thrift shops also use them.
