How do you let the love of your life go when you know the relationship is going nowhere and is not good for you?

A very difficult thing to do, been there. If you love him, at least give him the respect of talking to him, face to face; do not send a "dear John letter", that is the easy way out and only deepen the hurt. After you end it, take a short trip, to a place where you and your guy never visited. After that, find an interest or activity that you may have been putting off and get into that. Re-visit your friends you may have let go during your relationship. After time begins healing, start dating again, but take it slow, neither do you want to hurt again, nor do you want to use someone as a fill-in.

This is hard to do. But if you are sure that you no longer have any love at all, to reconcile or heal, dissolve in love.
If you are sure your situation is hopeless - then just say that you would love to separate as soon as possible.
It you the one to go - you pack all belongings within minutes and go there is no need to wait any longer and your decision certainly has matured for months or years. keep in mind that a separation in most cases is for life - however you need to be able to separate in peace and as friends.
Do not accuse or excuse for sure BOTH of you have made very substantial mistakes and failed to PROVE love to each other . What ever the reason may be - even if one of you two has already a new partner - the NEW partner NEVER is the true reason to separate - the failure of BOTH of you is the only reason why a relationship fails and thus the failure of BOTH of you to PROVE love and say a FULL YES to each others in good as well as in darkest times.
A failed relationship always is the result of either a denial to love or a rejection of love or both at the same time - from one or both partners concerned.
The one who initiates separation is the one to go - immediately within minutes - in love and in peace.

It is the hardest in the world to do, You just can't hardly do it. You look at him and you love him so much more than life itself. But, if you have to end it I would suggest writing him a letter and tell him that it looks like we can never share our life and I'm setting you free.
Then go home and cry your heart out for days, you know he is going to call just go on a vacation for 2 Weeks and find a place to think everything over and your heart is broken in a million pieces
But, you just gotta do what you gotta do. You know what you will never stop loving him as long as you live. But you will live as hard as you can without that tender kiss and smile and voice, but I just don't know

Its hard. You need support from other people that have been in a similar situation not people that will judge. Go to gloryb.com the forums and message boards are a big help. Good luck sweetie!

Cut all ties, and resist the temptation to contact him in any way. Throw out all things that remind you of him. Don't answer his calls, emails, etc. Distract yourself with other things that you enjoy doing. Good luck!

Just tell them that you are finished with the relationship and then stick to it. Keep yourself busy so they cannot find a space to weasel in and take advantage.
