What heritage? Briton was always ruled by some body, Romans, Norsemen, Saxons (Germans), French, Briton is a mongrel nation, The English language is a recent addition 350 years, the very monarchy is German, that's why it's ironic when people complain about European immigrant, their the backbone of Briton and always where.
Sadly the atrocities that Briton carried out on civilisations all over the world to rule over them and take whatever wealth they could from their country, is not the heritage you should be proud of, the fact that Briton introduced slave trading, the British must have been true barbarians, that's how occupied countries might have seen them, and of course there are flash backs when you see England football supporter, quality makes you proud don't it.

If we haven't done so already, we are very close to it.
Time we had another Festival of Britain which was probably the last time that the British showed some pride in themselves.
We once had a Buy British campaign, but we are no longer allowed to label our goods as British thanks to the EU. Add to this the loss of so many industries which made us famous for quality goods and the opening of markets selling us shoddy throw-away goods, the diluting of our traditions by political correctness etc.etc.Let us start by finding the good things which do remain and the things of which we can still be proud and insist that legislation protects them.
Why are these things lost? General public apathy!. Yes things can be done, prevented or changed, but it takes the efforts of the many and not just the few.

Don't be silly - how can a country lose its heritage? Unless you, as I suspect, mean white-bread anglo-saxon homogeneity.
The truth is, Britain has since prehistoric times been subject to waves of immigration and we're all a mongrel mix of allsorts. It's made the country vigorous and wealthy and far more influential than it's size or position in the world would warrant. Like the English language itself Britain has benefitted from new thoughts, new words, new people and new ideas.
That constant renewal is Britain's heritage - get used to it.

I think Arcadia has hit the nail on the head - maybe you need to define which nationality you belong to before saying that the heritage is being eroded.
As for whole towns being over run with immigrants, I find that very hard to believe. Britain is still 92.1% white, so there is no danger of any place being overrun by one foreign peoples.

I think you are talking rubbish. I am not sure what you mean by heritage but if you examine our history you will find that the English way of life has changed continuously and people from other countries with other cultures and religions have come into this country continuously as far back as you can trace our history. That is happening now and a good thing too

So...if you are so passionately Celt and dont want "the politics of England pushed on you"..then you must therefore be in favour of devolution and, as a consequence, a complete end to Britain as a statuatory entity...
Which makes your initial question a bit bleedin' pointless, really.

Yes, everyone is swamped by so-called AMERICAN CULTURE now, and how dire it is. This comprises the products, the language, the music. Turn on any music show - RAP. Or is it CRAP. Am I the only person sick of a man dressed in clothes too big for him mumbling on in American tones about "the streets"? Or a woman fiddling about on stage holding her notes too long and telling everyone to "kiss her ***" because she really "will survive without no man in her life"? Then I'm on the train and I see white boys talking as though their from coloured families in Missisippi. How embarrassing. I have to hide my smiles "cos maybe dail cut me, like a hoe dat I am, man."

Britain's heritage is certainly being diluted by the waves of immigrants arriving from Eastern Europe. Whole English towns and villages are now occupied by immigrants, that's not an exaggeration, that's a fact. (I am not a BNP supporter by the way. It is a fact that the British government thought 13,000 immigrants might arrive from Eastern Europe and 500,000 showed up! In the New Year, we have Romania and Bulgaria joining the EU and the next wave of immigrants gearing up.)

It hasn't lost its heritage, but I do feel that some of the respect it has around the world is waning because we are disappearing as an individual nation under a greater European banner.
