Your question is too generic on geriatrics. Narrow it down.
I will give you one idea. Annual driver license tests for people over 70. AARP is fighting it like mad saying it is discriminating against the elderly. But as you may well know, some people should not be out on the road because their reflexes are slow, hard of hearing, can't see well............

Here's one issue. When I was working in a nursing home, we had a patient quit breathing. The rule was this : the nurses had to talk to the doctor before they could start CPR.The brain dies in 3-5 minutes..ON the weekend and at night, you have to wait as long as 30 minutes to call you back..by then it's too late..why have nurses who know how to save lives if they can't do anything..
