One day,you will be old with some luck.

These people are our elders and should be respected as such. They have full lifetimes of knowledge and stories that must be shared with the younger
gens.

Wisdom comes with time. You can learn a lot from talking

to a senior citizen.

Thinks about THIS: Someday YOU will be 65, and if genetic science progresses (as it will, despite repo/fundy crap), you'll be MUCH healthier and look younger than any 65-year-olds in history!

Sooo...when that day comes, you want the younger folks to shove you into an incinerator because of some arbitrary age cut-off, or (jeez!) because you SMELL??! You might smell NOW, for all you know! Is that a reason to relegate you to the slaughter house?

You SO need to read Kurt Vonnegut!

To offer wisdom? To learn even more?

If they have children, they are here to test their children and grandchildren. People are supposed to take care of their elderly parents and unfortunately a lot of people throw em into old age homes and neglect them. Sometimes it's karma, other times it's people who are only interested in $$$ once they have their $$$ their parents serve no purpose. I know people like this and it's pathetic.

Other times, older people get a second chance through their grandchildren. They play a bigger part in their grandkids' lives to make up for what lacked in their children's lives.

Sometimes, older people still have a lot to learn and independence to experience.

It could be many things.

I personally do not know of any elderly people who smell. If you've known smelly older people, perhaps it's because they are not able to take care of themselves and cannot bathe well.

One day you'll be old. They are some people grandparents or parents and they might make you feel loved or help someone w/ thier problems or donate money to something or come up w/ a good idea. You may not see it now but some time you will and you will be sorry you doubted them.
