My boyfriend and I were talking last night about Christmas. I told him exactly what I wanted. He told me his ring size and everything and he said he likes engraved (on the top where it is visible) rings. He's a really soft spoken guy who is pretty much satified with anything, so it doesn't have to necessarily be something macho or anything. Just something simple! I need help so bad. I have looked virtually everywhere.

No, it doesn't have to have his name. I've tried Ebay too. I don't really have too much to go out and look because I work and we only have one car. So I was resorting to looking online. I had found a website before but it no longer exsists.

Find a shop that does custom jewelry for people. These won't be Name Brand shops but mom&pop type shops. Explain to them what you want. However, be prepared for $ticker $hock!!! It's ex$pen$ive to have custom work done.
EDIT:
I think the people here are not understanding what you're describing...or maybe I am........
However, I took your description to mean that he likes his rings to have VISIBLE designs ON the OUTSIDE of them.
The BEST way to achieve that is NOT by 'engraving'. It IS achieved by "casting" the ring using "the lost wax method" OR by having the ring "hand wraught".
Casting the ring using the lost wax method is when an exact dupilicate of the ring (which can be personalized in ANY way) is put in a special medium and the precious metal (silver, gold, etc.) is poured into the wax melting/buring the wax away leaving the metal in the exact impression where the wax WAS. *THIS* is the method that almost ALL jewelry is made today. OR it *starts* out that way and then is engraved (e.g.: a wide flat band with designs 'engraved' in it).
The way to tell if a piece has been 'engraved' or cast is that the engraved piece will have sharper edges to the designs. The cast piece will have a bit of rounding to the edges of the designs.
Hand wraught jewelry can best be described by using the Southwestern Native American jewelry as just one example. And, YES, they *do* use 'engraving' for *some* of their designs, too.
Transportation problem? Just let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages! Then all you'll have to do is get the car by telling him you have erronds to run and go do your business. ;)
The shops I suggested can be open most days of the week,,,ESPECIALLY since it's the Holiday Season and they want to make m-o-n-e-y.
And BTW: Just because you do business with a "Custom" shop doesn't mean you have to design the ring you buy. They ALWAYS have ready made jewelry on hand to pick from that is close to being comparable with Name Brand shops.
I just did a quick search on Y! using the term "Engraved Men's Rings" and came up with this site:
http://gilletts.com.au/index.php?cPath=3_137_7_39
Here is the Search Page that came from:
http://search.yahoo.com/search?search=Engraved+Men%27s+Rings&ei=UTF-8&fr=ks-ans&ico-yahoo-search-value=http%3A%2F%2Frds.yahoo.com%2F_ylt%3DAoi0VhhEn5aTbqnGjdFH5rMazKIX%2FSIG%3D111gjvvgj%2F*-http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.yahoo.com%2Fsearch&ico-wikipedia-search-value=http%3A%2F%2Frds.yahoo.com%2F_ylt%3DAtN.Q70yyUF1HMaK7gvAMqsazKIX%2FSIG%3D11ia1qo58%2F**http%253a%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FSpecial%253aSearch&p=Engraved+Men%27s+Rings
I hope this helps.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

You're gonna have to have someone engrave it for you. Ask the sales clerk at the store you buy the ring at.

Go to a jeweler, pick out a ring and have them engrave it. Almost all jewelers engrave or send it out to be engraved.
