A man, we'll call him George, is viewing another man's portrait. In reference to this man in the portrait, George says "brothers and sisters, I have none, and this man's father is my father's son." How is the man in the portrait related to George?

His son.
If GF = George's Father, PF = Portrait's Father, and P = Portrait, then we have the following from "this man's father is my father's son" (with the vertical line showing a father/son relationship):

GF
|
PF
|
P

Then, of course, George would also be the son of GF. But, since George says 'brothers and sisters, I have none', George has to equal PF (the guy in the portrait's father). So the guy in the portrait is George's son.

I think the man in the picture is the son of the man talking.
Let's call the picture Peter.
What George is saying is that "Peter's Father is the George's father's son"
George's father is george.
So, Peter's father is George.

It took me a few minutes to figure this out, and I still messed it up... so back to the drawing board...

He is the father of the guy in the picture, or portrait...

It took me awhile to figure this out, and now just watch everyone else jump on the bandwago, and say the same thing...lol

Yet, u have no answers up to this point...

Unless someone answers while I was thinking or typing...
