I'm thinking about getting my lip pierced. I always wanted to do it 'cause I think it's really bad a s s. I currently have had my tongue pierced for 6 years, but that won't really leave a hole and nobody can tell unless I open my mouth. I'm afraid that a lip piercing will ruin my pretty face, and I think it would look especially awkward if I decide to dress up nice. It probably will leave a hole permanently in my face too when I eventually decide to take it out just like I did with my belly button piercing. But it soooo seems to fit my personality and I really want one. What to do? Opinion?

lip piercings are old news. to be really cutting edge you need a bolt through your neck. rock on.

Wow, you have really given this a lot of thought. I'm proud of you for that. You are right that it will leave a permanent hole in your lip. Although as you age it will most likely not be noticeable. You are also right in thinking that it will not match well with a dressed up look. If you really think "it's you" then my opinion is to do it. Because "you" are "you" no matter what you are wearing. But, when I weighed the pros and cons I decided against it. No matter what you decide, you'll still have your pretty face. Good luck.

If its fits your personality you should, its doesnt matter what people say or do and when a formal party comes up wear something that will match your piercing and you. I know alot of people who has a lip piercing and they still look good with it. Try choosing a stud lip peircing instead of the loop kinds, so it wont be too noticable.

I've had my lip pierced for a while now and I decided to take it out tonight. It's really not worth all the trouble you have to go through to keep it. It will mess with your gums and it also makes it hard to eat especially when you accidently bite down on it and chip a tooth like I did.

I guess we all have our own ideas of what's bad a s s. And perhaps if you do it, it will last you a long time, I mean the feeling that it is cool. But I couldn't do anything like that, because my feelings change on things like that. I can get interested in something, but everything turns out to be a fad for me. I'm just saying that at the moment it may seem cool, but for how long? Later on in life, will be you embarassed when your husband, kids, or even grandkids will see it? Will they say, hey, mom was trying to be bad a s s!! lol

If you really want another piercing, instead of doing your lip why not get a stud put in your nose.

uh do watever you want to do but just remember when you get older it may not fit your personality anymore so you would have to let it grow in and then it could leave a scar hope it helps

Don't do it. It will make you look stupid and you'll never be able to get a decent job and nobody will every take you seriously.

why not try magnets first. wear it everyday and see if you could live with something like that for a while. or just stick with the magnets
