I'm from a foreign contry. I need to write a synopsis for a news article for my political science class. How do I do that? what is a synopsis?

That's not hard at all. A synopsis is just a summary. Hmm, a summary is just writing in short form what the article was about.

What?
Where?
When?
Why?

A synopsis is a short summary, telling the major points of the article.

It is when you sum up in general the contents of the article. Sort of like reading the back cover of a book that you are thinking of buying- you get the general idea of what it is about without actually having to read it.

When you summarize something (book, movie). Write the most important points, give some examples.
