The '5 Games' included with the Wii are fun for about 20 minutes each and good for showing it off at gatherings. There was nothing funnier than my slightly racist friend smack talking the black Mii he was pummling. It sounds racist of me, but you gotta know the kid. He was just so into it.

I think it's also important to note that he's pretty thick, was very intoxicated and prone to using excessive force and, even though he was not using a wrist strap, no property damages resulted. If Andy can use a Wiimote without breaking everything in the room, anyone can.

Also, more than a Million Wii's have been sold, according to NextGenWars.com.

This is a question of preffernce, so I'll summerize briefly.

If price isn't an issue, get a PS3. It's got a library of games that seems endless and it's got all the bells and whistles. I don't know how far online play will go on it, but that's entirely possible for it.

If you don't wanna pay in excess of $1000, but do really want a PS3, you probably want a 360. The game overlap is significant, it's backwards compatable and has a well established online community.

If you still plan to get a PS3, but maybe when they're a bit less expensive, concider a Wii. The launch has gone well and Nintendo seems to be working hard with developers, so the games should be there. The controls are unconventianal, but you don't have to be standing up like everyone seems to think. I played Zelda laying down for three hours last night. No problem. Unless you are rabidly anti-nintendo, it should provide enough entertainment for a good six months to a year, at least.

I think the Nintendo Wii will be the best for the buck. Only $250 and 5 games included. Amazing! Plus backwards compatibility for all games is simply amazing. Wii points will let you buy NES games for about $5 and Super NES for about $8. We all favorite NES games that will bring back memories and keep us entertained for hours. Though the graphics for the Ps3 was amazing, the $600 price isn't. Especially when I have read that so far 600,000 Wii's were sold with no complaints verses the Ps3 with over 200 games not being able to play on the overpriced console. I'd get the Wii.

The Nintendo Wii. It's the only truly "new" game console. The Playstation and XBox are just slightly improved versions of last year's models, and actually the main improvement is just an increase in memory. The Wii is also the least expensive one. If you get it, just be careful with the remote. Apparently, the wrist strap meant to keep it from flying out of your hands breaks easily. Several people have broken their TVs, windows, ceiling fans and more.
