Maybe they are thanking him for the talent and the blessing instead of making everyone a loser.

Not really...
They are in fact admitting to everyone that they would have been unable to win without relying on a crutch. "I know it looked like I won, but I don't have a mind of my own, and the real winner here today is my God".
I think that either people stand up for who they are, or I am not interested in hearing what they have to say.
The funny side of this is that if someone was to stand up and thank steroids or some other performance enhancing stuff, then there would be a major outcry. In the end, this is just another crutch.
:-)

I just keep having this picture in my head of JC sitting on a couch up somewhere on a cloud, with a Patriots ballcap on, jumping up with a beer in one hand and cursing the team for fumbling the ball on the fourth down and short yardage.
How asinine to think god gives a flying french flip about the outcome of a sporting event!

That's a point that I've often pondered in the past and I'm not even religious! It's not a very Christian thing to do is it? Perhaps they should ask their personal guardian angel for assistance instead, that way it affects no one elses chances!
Asking the Almighty for assitance during a professision sporting even is akin to taking steriods and other performance enhancing drugs! It shouldn't be allowed! lol!
