First of all you cannot compare the Beatles to Pete smacked in the head Doherty. Did you know that the song Tomorrow never knows was written by john whilst on LSD. You never saw the Beatles in prison every day because they got on with there dream. Pete is a musical genius but as i said he is like maradona great talent but wasted on drugs. If Pete doesn't change there goes another wasted talent.

I certainly don't hate him, largely because I don't know him. His music's okay, I don't doubt that he's got some talent... but the fact remains that he's screwed up, with a problem that desperately needs sorting out. I remember being quite disgusted when Docherty was voted the coolest bloke in Britain by NME readers... this was at the height of his smack addiction when he was throwing everthing he had down the pan. Sad. I stopped buying the NME afterwards, as it made me realise that at 23, I had long outgrown it.
As for what you've said about the Beatles... have you looked for any of the reviews of Lennon's solo material when he was on heroin? How everyone laid into Macca when he started up Wings? Both were hung, drawn and quartered by a fair portion of the press, so you're not entirely accurate there.

I dont think people hate Pete Doherty, but he could have kept his public life out of every ones face.

Forget the drugs and the rock star swaggering and the model girlfriend. It's because he's knowhere near the legendary song writer that he thinks he is that I dislike him. Somewhere in his tortured little exsistence he actually thinks he's talented.

because he is a heroin addict and such a bad influence on the children of today, the beatles wer'nt as open and certainly didnt go about looking all drugged up like him, he looks a total **** up! none of the beatles where always getting themselves thrown into prison or heroin addicts!

I have just heard that he's escaped with a small fine again for posession of heroin and crack coccaine. I think people hate him because he seems to be able to do as he pleases. One law for him...plus he gets to rump Kate Moss!
