Acura recommends it, but it's not required. However, multiple people have said that the car's performance suffers from using lower-grade fuel.
Don't think of premium fuel as such a hindrance. It costs more for a reason. And if your car is tuned for it, I would try to use it whenever possible.

I have a CL and have been using regular for the last 2 years or so due to the high gas prices. I have had no problems. It does run a bit smoother and a lil better gas milage on Premium.

Suggest you use what the manual states.
The car will run on regular, but the car will run better if premium is used.It may cost you $2. more per tank full. Not really that much more for getting much better results.
this is my personal experience with a Volvo

we use regular gas in our tsx-no problems. we previously owned two other cars that recommended premium gas. when we sold them- one had 250,000 miles and the other 105,000 miles using regular gas. if you read consumer reports they say use regular gas even when premium is recommended. how do you know which gas you are actually getting if there is only one hose and you select the grade.

Yep, stick with the premium. Or your asking for trouble, and thus voiding your warranty.
