My dog ate up his bowl and i think he ate some of the pieces and now he does not want to eat, and when we feed him he will throw it up... so the stuff might be in his stomach... what should we expect to pay? Has anyone had this happen to them? Thanks!

Not to scare you, but this could be a very expensive trip. IF you think he ate pieces of the bowl, you may be looking at surgery to remove the pieces of the bowl. At the very least you are looking at Xrays to confirm a foreign body in the stomach/intestines. If the vet doesn't feel that surgery is needed or if there isn't a blockage, the vet will probably recommend an easy to digest food (either something you cook, or a bagged/canned food). If your dog has been throwing up a while, he's probably dehydrated and will probably need fluids. They may give an antibiotic, and an anti nausea med to combat the vomiting.

I would definately recommend getting your dog in ASAP though. The symptoms you describe are worrisome. Best of luck. I Hope everything works out okay.

Have the credit card ready, that's all I can say.

NO ONE can tell you what to expect to pay until an exam is done and the vet knows what's going on. If your puppy ate parts of his chewed up bowl and it's stuck in his intestinal tract, that will cost a lot. You'll probably pay for an exam, x-rays, medication and possibly surgery and hospital stay bloodwork and maybe more.

My dog once ate a sock and got a bowel obstruction. He had to go into surgery. I would say get him to the Vet ASAP. If I can remember this ran us up about $800.00. But it all depends on your own veterinary office. If it helps you can go down there or call and they will give you an estimate so you know what you're looking at. Also, some vets have payment plans.

No one can give you an estimate but your vet. All I can say is the longer you wait to get him there the worse off he will get and the price will go up. Get out the credit card and call the vet ASAP.

Call a vet, they'll check on him for cheap then tell you how much to pay. No affence, but I'm not so sure I trust you with being a pet owner so DON'T PUT HIM TO SLEEP! If you have to, sell him to a non kill shelter, but don't kill him.
