Most of the people asking questions here are too stupid to know a best answer if it hit them in the face.

I don't know but it seems like a waste of points. It takes two seconds to choose a best answer and get back 3 points, which you can then use to ask more questions.
I guess some people are just lazy, or maybe they don't know. I suppose the real issue is that most of the people asking questions are new and don't usually stick around long enough to "play the game."

The best answer? I think the choosing by the person asking is not always important though the answers are important, it allows others to be in the team

If you don't choose a best answer within the allotted time (I believe it's 3 days) then the question is sent to the voters & the answer with the most votes wins. You're free to vote on any question, theoretically you can even choose your own answer as the best (if you can find it, the avatars are absent in the voting stage to make it somewhat anonymous). I only have the internet at work so I can't always get on yahoo & once I'd posted a question & wasn't able to choose a best in time. I was disappointed because it went to a vote & I didn't get to pick who I thought was the best answer. Anyway, that's what I think.
So make sure to pick me for best answer (You have to wait about 4 hours before it lets you choose a best)! Tee hee! :)

The Questioner that does not choose the best answer is either biased or blind or both, and also has poor judgement; choosing the best answer which is obviously not the best but heck, it's all relative is'nt it.

I usually do not choose a best answer because I am usually very lazy. Plus I tend to take parts from every answer.

Usually the best answer is the answer that agrees with the persons questions. example..if a person asks was I wrong..and they don't they were..everyone who writes in and says yes except 1 person and they say no..the asker will pick the one that says no..because they agreed with them..make sense..hope so...hard to explain..maybe you got it..

Some who ask questions are lazy and selfish. They take the answers but don't give the points.

It is because the word "best" is highly objective. What may be best to one person could not be all that good to another.
