Peer pressure is a misnomer. It is actually, in my experience, self inflicted. People look around at other people and think, "Well, this must be cool because they're doing it." All through high school and college, I have never once had someone force a drink, cigarette, or drug upon me. When offered them, they would back off if I said, "No, thanks." Anything I have done has been a choice I made on my own.
