in the book "The Outsiders" ponyboy was a greaser, or member of the lower economic level who ganged together against the Socs or higher econimic gang. ponyboy is a term used to describe a dirty, poor, gang member or someone looked down on or suspected to be in a gang.

or used in "Finding Nemo" to insult Bob the seahorse.

Maybe she meant someone with a ponytail, or someone that looks like the sort to have a ponytail (or rather literally, just someone who likes horses)?

I heard my neighbor say this, and he meant

he was dating a few different girls at the same time...and they were his ponies.........to ride.

I lost respect for him when he said....he did not respect the women he chose to date!
