I mean of you have a chance to become a pro? Or should you start lower?

In motocross - the size of the bike means NOTHING.

Really.

Look at lap times of the best 125 class pros and the 250 class pros. Yep, just about the same.

So, it's all rider skill.

And all those pro riders learned on small bikes. Every one of 'em, from Carmichael on down started on little stuff.

Skill comes with practice. If you don't have the skill, the bike you ride won't make a darned bit of difference.

A beginning rider will always be faster on the smallest and lowest powered bike that fits his size.

Hey! If you have never rode before, go lower. Unless you are tall and weigh more than 190, a 250 is right for you! My advice: go to your local motocross shop, and ask the guy what you need. Practice lots. Remember that if that bike falls on you, you gotta be able to lift it off of you. I was taught as a precaution: lay bike on the ground, and practice pulling it up. Sounds easy hey? Well, they are heavy! Have fun and good luck! :o)

it really depends on how good you ride.. definitely dont start lower than 125 if anything.. but i started racing 250's and im doing awesome right now.. so yea start at 250 and just make sure u ride hard and you should be ok.. but if ur amateur DONT START 250'S..

u should start lower, unless you ar really good at bike riding, i say start with like at least 70cc dirt bike, then move to 110cc after you master both then move up. simple as that, thats how those professional motorcross riders started, ask one theyll tell you.
