The positive effects outweigh the few negative effects.
Many of the negative effects are temporary and go away within six months of taking the pill (heavy bleeding and nausea).
Negative are bad PMS, water retention, and gallbladder disease(with the high dose pills).
The heart disease effects you only have to worry about if you are over 35, are a smoker, and already have them. If you don't smoke, the heart disease effects won't happen.
Gaining weight from the pill is a myth. You don't.

My cousin had a blood clot in her leg and had to have surgery, all from taking birth control.
I have a fear that it can make you infertile when youre older. I heard it can make you gain weight as well.
