I don't get the confusion, Michigan beat everyone except for the number 1 team who they lost to by 3 at their home stadium. Losing by 3 on the road is a virtual tie. In my opinion, Michigan should have remained #2 regardless of USC and Florida. If the BCS decides differently then I guess I know what the B and S stand for, otherwise...lets hope for a good game.

Yep. I think Michigan should play OSU. Even though UF's schedule might have been one of the toughest, look at their loss. They loss to Auburn by 10 pts! Look at Michigan's loss. They loss AT #! ranked OSU and only by 3 pts.

This was all set up to try and cause a TV jackpot playoff system. There is no way that it should have been Florida, they would have ended up #4 if USC had won. The only other "deserving" team besides Michigan I think is Boise St. How good are they? No one knows, because they didn't play anyone. But they are undefeated, and easily deserve the same opportunity as Florida to get the crap kicked out of themselves. BYU was handed the title in the 80's after barely beating a 6-5 hurt Michigan team, and no one said anything. Anyway, once again, it's the fans who will lose out the most. By the way, isn't coach Lloyd Carr just about the classiest NCAA football coach living today?

I hate the BCS and am totally in favor of a Playoff system. Is the Michigan better than Florida and USC....yes.....do they deserve a title shot.....NO!! I am a firm believer that if you lose the last game of the season, then you should have no shot at the title. Look at Notre Dame back in '92- '93. They lost to BC last game of the season, Florida State jumped in fromt of them for the title shot, even though ND had beat FSU earlier in the season. You should not be able to play in the title game if you blow it at the end. If Ohio State had lost, they wouldn't have deserved to go either. Florida did what they needed to do, played the extra championship game which Michigan didn't have to do, and got the job done against a good Arkansas team. Unfortunately, Im pretty sure the BCS is gonna have a rematch of Michigan and Ohio State, so none of what I wrote really matters :)

Absolutely not, The Big 10 can't even count to 10, an team that doesn't win their conference should not be in the national champoinship game. Plus florida is a much better team and the SEC a much better conference. With the teams having the same record you have to take the #1 team from the # 1 conference ahead of the #2 team in the 3rd or 4th best conference.

The 2 best teams will be in the game.. Ohio State and Florida.. Floridas going and deserve to and here's why.....:

Offensive TD's Scored:
FLORIDA - 44
USC - 43
Michigan - 41

Average Yards per Play:
FLORIDA - 6.51
USC - 5.95
Michigan - 5.64

Top 25 Defenses Faced:
FLORIDA - 5
Michigan - 3
USC - ZERO

Losses to UNRANKED teams:
USC - 1
FLORIDA - ZERO
Michigan - ZERO

Losses to Top 15 teams:
FLORIDA - 1
Michigan - 1
USC - ZERO

So it must be a problem with our defense, you say?

Scoring Defenses:
FLORIDA is #4 Nationally (allowing 12.3 per game)
Michigan is #9 Nationally (allowing 14.6 per game)
USC is #13 Nationally (allowing 15.1 per game)

SO...

The University of Florida has scored more Touchdowns than USC or Michigan... gained more yards per play than USC or Michigan... all against much tougher defenses than those faced by USC or Michigan... and has a BETTER DEFENSE than USC or Michigan...

When did it become more important to earn these "style points" (buzz word for what a team that the media wants to put #2 has and a team that the media doesn't want to put #2 does not have, whatever it might be) than to play and beat good competition?

No. Ohio State should not have to play Michigan.

Michigan had its chance to beat the #1 team and they failed. Because of that, its only fair that another team who has also had a great season gets a chance to be national champs. It appears that team might be Florida.

I like Michigan, they've had a good season, but a repeat game is not fair to any other team who deserves a shot. Why should Michigan get a second chance??

On a second note, your question is backwards. It should be "Don't you think Michigan should play Ohio State for the Championship?" The way you posted the question shows that your a Michigan fan and it implies that Ohio State has to go through Michigan to become BCS champs. Sorry dude, Michigan had its shot and lost...

get over it and move on....

theoretically it might desire to ensue in the event that they the two pass undefeated, and the sport on the top of the 365 days is an in depth one, and there at the instant are not the different undefeated communities, they may well be ranked #one million and #2 and play for the national Chapionship, however the possibilities are high not likely. it may be extra helpful for them in the event that they performed earlier in the season, yet thats area of the reason they play on the top, so the gang thats out of it has a super gamble to knock off the gang thats nevertheless in. This years interest would be Jan. eighth in Glendale, AZ, new homestead of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals.

Absolutely. It's a shame we have this rinky dink BCS system. Michigan and Florida each had 1 loss, so let's compare the losses. Michigan lost by 3 pts to the #1 team in the country...and Florida lost to...drumroll please... Auburn, who is #9? Give me a break. Shame on the voters who didn't care who the better team was and just voted against a rematch.

I would love to see a rematch , Any true sportsfan would whether you are an OSU fan or a Michigan fan These are the two best teams ! But I really think whats going to screw up Michigans chance is the not winning your conference thing , I am a Buckeye fan and I would love to get it on again , but ultimately this whole BCS system needs to go away WE NEED A PLAYOFF SYSTEM so their is never any doubt who the best team is , hopefully one day it will happen !

IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS
THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IS FOR TEAMS WHO WON THERE CONFERENCE. MICHIGAN LOST THERE CONFERENCE AND FLORIDA WON THE SEC THE BEST MOST DOMINANT CONFERENCE. FLORIDA HAD THE HARDEST SCHEDULE AND MICHIGAN PLAYED ONE LESS GAME THAN FLORIDA. YES MICHIGAN'S LOSS WAS TO THE BEST TEAM BUT THEY LOST THEY DON'T DESERVE TO PLAY AGAIN! THE REASON WHY THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PLAY AGAIN VS. OHIO STATE IS BECAUSE THEY ALREADY LOST NO NEED TO PLAY ANOTHER GAME. FLORIDA DESERVES A SHOT. THE BIG REASON FLORIDA MOVED UP IS BECAUSE THEY HAD TO PLAY IN A CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP WHICH MICHIGAN DID NOT PLAY IN WHICH GAVE ONE MORE WEEK FOR THE VOTERS TO RETHINK HOW HIGH MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA WERE RATED AND THAT IS IT. I WILL BE ROOTING FOR USC TO KILL MICHIGAN THEY NEED TO CRY! OHIO STATE WILL HAVE A TOUGH TIME BEATING FLORIDA BUT WILL PULL IT OUT.
