The LGBT community - - - or at least a significant segment of it - - - is largely to blame for the abuse it is receiving online from these predators and sociopaths because it is encouraging this behavior. What it does not realize is that the power is theirs to change this state of affairs. I am beginning to think though that many are actually happy with the status quo and don't want it to change.
The predators feed on attention and especially on insult. If you try to be nice to them and try to understand them and where they are coming from, they just laugh behind your back. Being nice to a troll just makes it meaner. If you respond with a clever remark, it is to them a treat that makes them want to come back for more. If you insult them you've given them their favorite food.
Basically, it is just like feeding people food to a dog at the dinner table. Once you start handing out treats, they're just going to keep coming back for more.
What some in the LGBT community fail to understand is that ANYTHING you give the predators is a treat to them. ALL responses fuel further hate and more attacks.
It is because some in the LGBT community insist on feeding the enemy that I have taken to refer to them as troll accomplices. And I will continue to do so until they desist in this behavior.
YOU CAN NOT PUT OUT A FIRE
BY POURING GASOLINE ON IT.
TO PUT OUT A FIRE YOU MUST
STARVE IT OF OXYGEN.
THE TROLLS USE ATTENTION
AND INSULT AS OXYGEN.
START STARVING THEM OF IT
OR STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T.
THE POWER IS YOURS
IF YOU WILL ONLY TAKE IT.
To the honorable ladies and gentlemen in this community I would offer this advice and warning:
You have traitors and turncoats within your very own ranks. Sadly these may prove to be an even more formidable opponent than the Basher-homophobes who ultimately are weak poor excuses for human beings, composed of poor protoplasm and/or indoctrinated with hate from a very tender age. They could be easily defeated but for the turncoats in your own ranks, the troll accomplices.

I am not in this catagory very often so I don't come across that many homophobic questions but I do responf to mean people quite frequently.
Why? Not for their benifit, of course. But I know there are many people that may be influenced by them so I want to put my two cents worth in. Its just my attempt to bring some reason into the discussion instead of just having a buch of people trading insults.
The asker is a lost cause at least 90% of the time, but many of the people reading the questions & answers are not.

I have appealed to people to do the same thing. I've been good for so long but I just slipped and replied to a homophobic religious zealot with what I thought was a fairly good zinger. I agree with you. The sole purpose these people do it is to get a reaction out of people. If everyone just ignores them they will get bored and go away. I'm going to take a pledge: even though I'm capable of replying with unparalleled wit and intelligence, I'm going to ignore these morons.

I usually do just report and move on.(for the most part.)
Personally I get a giggle out of them whining about "rats" and such, if they'd stick to the rules they wouldn't have to worry about creating a new ID every couple of days.
Speaking of IDs and points..Did anyone else see the free gifts that are to be given out according to your level? All you had to do was sign up with your login Id give them the address and you can expect to get it in the mail in a short time. I've already gotten the keychain from a few weeks back, I'm looking forward to my coffee cup I qualified for by reaching level 6 by Dec 3rd. Too bad for the trolls, you had to at least have a level 2 to qualify...lol.

Why do they arrive right here?? because they are fascinated in it, thats why. Secretly of direction, yet fascinated. they say advise or hateful issues purely in case each person sees of their browser heritage the position they have been. a minimum of thats the case with a lot of them. different others are both: a) adult men with body scent and pot bellies, donning grimy, spouse beater t-shirts, who've tiny willies and are jealous that us gay adult men are growing the reliable stuff contained in the sack, or b) ignorant gruesome chicks with faces that would want to run a canines off of a gut-wagon, who couldn't get laid with a mattress tied to their backs and are jealous reason the warm lesbians on listed lower than are having reliable pleasant sex. Sorry, do I sound Jaded immediately???

To "put down" people because they are Gay, left handed, walk with a limp etc gives some a sense of superiority and encourages them.
Nothing will change them . Perhaps we might adopt a classic case ( OLGA ?) as a mascot so she could see we are really not all that bad ?

Do you like the idea of ignorant people maintaining their sense of superiority to gay people? If so, keep on being a silent bystander to abuse that you should feel incensed by.
I feel it my duty to correct flawed or stupid thoughts - not just on 'gay' issues. I can only try to help. If you give up trying to help people see your view they will go on assuming, judging, hating. Are you willing to tolerate being considered a misunderstood 'freak'?
If a person is persistently abusive, I report them. I then see their question 2 , 3 or 4 days later still posted, Yahoo doing nothing to curb the homophobic abuse.
I ask a question about rimming, it gets deleted 10 minutes later. I report a question that asks "Did you know that gay people are possessed by the Devil?" and nothing happens.

You are right, of course. It's not like they read our well thought-out responses. They're just here for some kind of weird thrill, and we give them the sense of power they crave by acknowledging them. I'm with you. (But I don't know if I'll be able to resist responding to the "God loves you so why are you gay" crowd.)

I just laugh at their stupidity, report them, and move on. I don't think that everyone will be able to ignore them though. People will always try to convince another person that their idiotic opinion, even if it will do no good.

I usually ignore them, but when I do answer it's because I don't want the legitimately curious (who are usually not the people asking the questions) to think that because nobody challenge the lies that they must be true.
