It really depends on how old your daughter is.

I think, though, what you have to do is sit her down and talk to her about it. Explain the rules. Just don't talk to her in an angry or condescending tone. You want her to know that you care about her and you are not belittling her or being unfair. Let her know why you grounded her in the first place, what she did wrong. Try to understand each other and ask her to follow your simple rules. Tell her it's not like you want to ground her, but that she has to respect your rules. If she respects you, you will respect her.

I don't know what else to do. I am just a 16-year-old girl myself.. so I don't know if this is good advice, but it's how I would want to be talked to.

Do not give in to her and keep on grounding her until she gets the message. Now if you give in to your daughter then she will always know the technique to get over. Ths is how some kids tell their parents what to do now days with the parent becoming the children and the children becoming the parent. By you being the parent what you says goes and children should respect that. Do not spare the rod and ruin the child. Children should obey their parents and have long days upon the earth.

she may just be trying gto get her attention. parents can be obessed with grounding. why is grounding always the answer. as a parent you shouldn't be trying to get past it. if you know she's doing it on purpose the how about talking to her about the things that she's doing. something could be wrong in her life that you may not know about and she might tell you if you'd only ask her.
